When classes are on, it’s so hard to have free time because all I do study. But when the break finally came, I was able to try things that I’ve never done before!

I was so happy when my exams was finished because I could finally relax, be with my friends and try some new activities that I saw on Instagram. Being an AEP student means going to class five times a week, so I was very excited to take a break from learning because I worked really hard during the term!

After the exams, I went to Shelley Beach in Manly with my friends and we swam in the blue water. It was very clean water and I saw a lot of fish and seaweed. Australia is famous for their beaches and when I went to Shelley Beach I understand why. Everything was so beautiful and there are many people who go to the beach on the weekend even if it’s not summer which was surprising. After that we went to eat an acai bowl, which was my first time having one! A lot of people were lining up for it, and it’s similar to frozen yoghurt but people say that it’s healthier for you.

I also tried a dance class at the Sydney Dance Company, which is near the famous Opera House. It was a hip-hop class and a little hard because I’m not that good at dancing. But it was very fun and the teacher was friendly and explained the dance carefully so I want to go again later and maybe try some other styles.

Another new hobby that I found was embroidery. My friend showed me on TikTok and I thought it was very cute and a good activity to do at home, especially when it rains and I don’t want to go outside. At first I kept making mistakes and it wasn’t easy like in the video. But after a few hours I slowly was able to do it and I made my first embroidered handkerchief! I will keep it as memory of my first one, and want to make some for my friends and family when I fly back home.

Sydney has a lot of fun activities to do, with your friends or by yourself. I think that everyone should look on the internet and see what new hobby they might find.
