Friday 8th March is International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the political, cultural, economic and social accomplishments of women, as well as promoting the importance of gender equality. UNSW is taking on the United Nations’ theme for 2024:

Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.

IWD is observed annually on 8 March. Every year the day is focused around a certain idea, and this year’s theme call attention to the role that accessible education and inclusive technologies play in addressing and alleviating the marginalisation of women globally.

What’s on at UNSW College

UNSW College wants to pay tribute to countless women throughout history who have changed the game, made an impact on society, and inspired millions. Explore around the L5 Courtyard and Student Common Room to learn about some of these trailblazers and their accomplishments.

We also have a board where you can write a short note about someone you know who has influenced the person you are today. Can be someone you now personally like a mother or sister, or even a famous person.
