If you missed Orientation, this page is your introduction to studying at UNSW College. It includes resources, events and information sessions designed to prepare you to be successful from day one of your classes. Please follow all the steps on the right-hand side. These steps are compulsory for you to be ready to succeed in your program.
As a new student who has not gone to an Orientation, you are required to attend a compulsory Late Orientation session at the start of your program. Attendance will be recorded and if you do not attend this session, you will not be commenced as a UNSW College student.
Welcome to the start of your Foundation Studies Program.
It is compulsory for you to attend all the sessions across both days of Orientation. Please arrive on campus on time.
If you are not able to arrive in Sydney on time for your Orientation Days, you must speak with your education agent who will advise you of your options.
The steps on the right side of this page are compulsory to read and complete. Please ensure you complete Step 1, 2 and 3 before your Orientation Days.

If you add a preferred name, it will appear in Allocate+ and will replace your first name on Attendance pages.
In the Student Portal and other internal systems, your legal name will remain unaffected and will continue to be displayed along with your preferred name (if you choose to upload one).
Please keep in mind that legal names remain editable only by College staff and only if providing supporting documentation. To request a change on your legal name, please email the Enrolments Team.
To upload your preferred name:
You must also have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and verify it in the Student Portal.
Without one, you cannot receive your qualification or statement of attainment and your graduation cannot be finalised. You can find detailed instructions here on how to complete this process.
You can access Moodle here. Moodle is your online learning platform where you will find all your UNSW course information, class materials, assignment outlines, exam details and your teacher's contact information.

This inclusive initiative is designed to equip you with essential knowledge and support during your first four weeks of studies, commencing the week prior to your Orientation Day.
Starting your academic program at a new and unfamiliar environment can be overwhelming. There is a wealth of information to absorb, and navigating unfamiliar territory can be daunting.
Our Buddy Program is designed to foster initial friendships and introduce new students to a supportive community. It is part of our commitment to ensuring that every student feels prepared and connected prior to starting their studies with us.
From the outset, you will gain invaluable social connections in your allocated group, led by a Peer Mentor.
Our dedicated Peer Mentors, who are experienced students at the College, will guide you through university life, ensuring you feel welcomed, connected, and ready to excel in your new academic and social environment. They will provide insider tips on campus life, help you discover the best dining and study spots, and offer support to help you settle down in Sydney.
You will be in a group with other students (a.k.a. your new Buddies!) who are also starting the program at the same time as yourself. Some of them may have been to Sydney before, some may have called Sydney home for most or for all of their life, and some might be stepping into Sydney, or even Australian for the first time ever. Before you even step onto campus, you can rest assured that you already have a great support system of friends to navigate your journey at the College.
You may see a notification to join a WhatsApp or WeChat group, please make sure to join it!
Once you are in the group chat, make sure to introduce yourself to your new buddies and Peer Mentor.
Remember that this chat and your group is a safe space to ask any questions you may have, and if the Peer Mentor cannot answer your specific question then they can help direct you to where you need to go.
