Join us for an epic three-day program where you’ll learn all the skills you need to stay safe while enjoying Sydney’s stunning beaches. Whether you’re a newbie or just want to brush up on your beach safety, this program is perfect for you!
This awesome program is brought to you by the Water Safety for International Students Community of Practice, UNSW College in partnership with UNSW Health Promotion Unit, Coogee Surf Life Saving Club, Surf Life Saving NSW, proudly sponsored by Study NSW, NSW Government and Medibank.
Over three action-packed days, you’ll participate in both theory and practical sessions at Coogee Beach with trained surf life savers. Here’s what you’ll master:
🏄‍♂️ Reading Beach Signs: Decode those beach signs and flags like a pro!
🌊 Floating in Rips, Waves, and Tides: Learn how to stay afloat and safe in various water conditions.
🏊‍♀️ Swimming in Beach Conditions: Boost your confidence and skills to swim safely in the ocean.

🚨 Emergency Response: Know exactly what to do if you or someone else is in trouble.
🎣 Safe Rock Fishing: Tips and tricks for fishing safely from rocks.
🏖️ Planning a Safe Beach Trip: Everything you need to prepare for a fun and safe day at the beach.
⚠️ Identifying Beach Risks: Spot potential dangers before they become a problem.
🏄‍♀️ Beach Scenarios: Practical exercises to apply your new skills in real-life situations.
