The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) follows Charlie, a shy and introverted teenager starting high school while struggling with a difficult past. After befriending the outgoing step-siblings Patrick and Sam, Charlie begins to experience friendship, love and a sense of belonging. As he navigates adolescence and confronts painful memories, Charlie learns to understand himself and the importance of having people who accept him for who he is.
