Common questions

  • Start with Student Services or the "Important Student Contacts" page. They'll point you to the right person. If you book with the wrong team by mistake, that's fine – we'll re-direct you and help you book the right appointment.

  • Yes. You're welcome to bring a friend, classmate, parent or support person to any meeting. The Student Progress Team also offer small-group sessions if you'd like to come along with a study group.

  • Yes. What you share in a meeting stays between you and the team you're meeting with, except in the limited circumstances where we're required to act – for example, if there's a serious risk to safety. Your adviser will explain this at the start of your appointment.

  • You choose when you book. All teams offer appointments on campus at UNSW College L5 Building, or online via Microsoft Teams. You'll receive a calendar invite with the location or join link.

  • Use the link in your booking confirmation email to reschedule or cancel. We appreciate as much notice as you can give – it lets us offer the time to another student who needs it.

  • You don't have to, but if you'd like any adjustments for the appointment itself (a longer session, a specific room, captioning for an online meeting), please add a note when you book or email the team ahead of time.

  • No. All meetings with UNSW College teams are free for current students.
