What is Career Coaching?
Career coaching is a conversation about you and your future.
You might already know where you want to go, or you might have no idea yet.
Both are completely fine.
In a one-to-one session, we'll explore where you are now, what matters to you and the practical steps that could help you move forward.
What can we talk about?
Meet your Careers & Employability Advisor
Hi, I'm Agata.
My role is to help UNSW College students explore career possibilities; recognise the skills and experiences they already have, build confidence and take practical steps towards their future.
Whether you're just starting to think about your career, choosing between different pathways or getting ready to apply for an opportunity, I'm here to help you work out what comes next for you.
You don't need to know exactly where you're going before we start.
-
Your career starts before graduation.
You don't need to wait until you're applying for graduate jobs to start thinking about your career.
Starting early gives you time to:
- understand your strengths, interests and values
- explore different careers before making decisions
- build experience through work, volunteering and university activities
- develop skills employers value
- learn how to communicate your experience
- make more informed decisions about your next steps.
Small steps now can make future decisions much easier.
-
30 minutes. One-to-one. Focused on you.
There is no test, and you don't need to prepare the “right” answers.
Depending on what you'd like to discuss, your session might involve exploring your ideas, identifying your strengths and interests, researching career pathways, discussing study and career options, reviewing your resume or cover letter, practising interview questions or creating a simple action plan.
You'll leave with clearer next steps – not pressure to have everything figured out.
-
You can book a session if you're thinking...
- “I have no idea what career I want.”
- “I'm choosing between two degrees.”
- “What jobs could my degree lead to?”
- “I don't have any work experience.”
- “I don't know what my strengths are.”
- “I've never written a resume.”
- “I want to find a part-time job.”
- “I have an interview coming up.”
- “I know what career I want, but I don't know what to do next.”
You don't need to have a clear career question before you book. We can work that out together.
