Volunteer Program
The UNSW College Volunteer Program is the ideal start for students looking to get involved in developing their leadership, communication and job-ready skillset, which can further propel them to additional professional opportunities within the College and beyond.
Volunteers are crucial to the delivery of our events, from official ceremonies such as orientations and graduations to social gatherings such as festivals and weekly activities on campus. They help create a warm and welcoming vibe, help answer questions, and encourage students to participate and facilitate friendships.
Timecounts is the platform you'll use to explore available volunteer shifts, apply for shifts that work around your timetable, and log the total number of hours spent volunteering.

Why is this important?
As you accumulate your volunteer hours, you'll reach different milestones that unlock a range of exciting rewards. These include professional development opportunities such as First Aid & CPR certification and a Barista Training Course – practical qualifications that can help you stand out to future employers.
Additionally, being a volunteer is the first point of progression to other leadership positions within the College. Active volunteers who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the Student Representative Council or a paid Events Intern. These leadership opportunities are highly competitive, with a limited number of positions available each year. Eligible volunteers are encouraged to apply whenever applications open.
Don't forget that volunteers who do a minimum of 5 hours will be on track to earn a "Junior Volunteer Badge" and start their progression with earning Leadership Recognition Badges.
